Prana Flow and Pranayama:
Prana can be translated into vital energy in motion or livingness – the right flow of prana brings about vitality. This class will focus on getting the prana moving with an invigorating and energizing vinyasa flow. This will be followed by pranayama techniques to feel calm, centered, and focused. The relaxation technique of Yoga Nidra to overcome physical and mental exhaustion will also be covered in a few classes.
Pranayama has excellent benefits and helps us overcome our anxiety and stress. Apart from that, pranayama will help us prepare our minds for meditation. “Without full awareness of breathing, there can be no development of meditative stability and understanding.”
In each class, we will also bring you closer to the meaning of breathing and meditation with a dash of yoga philosophy. Chinmayee will guide you through the vinyasa flow, pranayama, and relaxation techniques. Students are encouraged to learn body awareness and listen to the body’s intelligence as they move.
Chinmayee has been teaching yoga, meditation, and breathwork for the past 11 years. Originally from India, Chinmayee comes from the Kriya Yoga lineage. She is passionate about integrating the ancient science of yoga into our modern lifestyles with a holistic approach.
Chinmayee teaches a yoga style that combines the principles of Kriya Yoga and Zen Buddhism. It is her passion to teach all elements of yoga and she encourages her students to apply yoga philosophy on and off the mat.
